Many critics say that this step by the government limits freedom of speech and expression and makes Russian community more conservative. They say that it will make the culture boring and staid. They are of the view that bad words are a part of every language and exist in everyday speech and with this initiative Russian entertainment industry will no longer be able to show genuine expressions and dialogues. Instead, the artists now will have to let go the genuineness in order to please censor boards.
